Why are you involved with the Lake Erie Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association?
I love all things Penn State. I enjoy celebrating and fundraising with Penn State alumni and all Penn State fans. Our scholarships are awarded to local students and help keep the Penn State presence strong in NW PA.
What is your favorite Penn State moment?
When my kids attended University Park we had such fun tailgating before football games. It was great watching a new generation discover Penn State and grow to love it. We are still tailgating and still having fun in Happy Valley.
What do you like most about your career?
Solving problems, simplifying processes, automating procedures. It is gratifying to take a business process and streamline it, fix it, implement it – saving money and time for the organization.
What are your hobbies?
Reading, sports, traveling.
Where else do you volunteer?
GE Women’s Network, Edison School (GE community school), Fair Districts PA, GE Volunteer events.
What is your favorite restaurant in Erie/Crawford/Venango?
Beer themed: Voodoo, Tap House. Other: Pineapple Eddies, Mi Scuzi, Colao’s
One piece of career advice to recent Penn State graduates:
Get a job – any job (that’s “mom advice”). You will learn things – good and bad. Grow from your mistakes, keep learning from others. You will continue to build on your experiences – they all matter.
Why should alumni get involved with LEC-PSAA?
Raising scholarship money is a good thing but so is networking with other alumni and celebrating Penn State.
Why should alumni meet you?
I have been working in the professional world for over 30 years – in Erie. I have a large network – both business and personal. Always happy to listen and give advice!
